Rajeev-Rajan Lad Trust is a registered public Charitable Trust established in 1984.The detailed background of our Trust is given in the pamphlet herewith. The founder and President of Rajeev – Rajan Lad Trust Mrs. Meeratai Lad is also the trustee of Kushtharog Nivaran Samiti, Shantivan, Nere, Panvel.
While working in existing old age home at Shantivan, she came in contact with a young man who was physically disabled due to accident. He was also not in a condition to understand anything. No one was ready to look after him. Mrs. Meeratai Lad felt that there should be some arrangement to look after such persons and Kushtharog Nivaran Samiti can also do this work. Rajeev – Rajan Lad Trust came forward & donated Rs. 50 Lacs to Kushtharog Nivaran Samiti. From this amount in the year 1997 Kushtharog Nivaran Samiti started a project called "Rajeev–Rajan Adharghar" at Shantivan, Nere, Panvel.
The main aim of this project is to look after physically handicapped people. Aadharghar literally means a place which gives all the support similar to one's home. From the beginning, "Aadharghar" has been engaged in the mission of reducing the agonies of the inmates admitted herein. Till date in Rajeev–Rajan Adharghar 218 male & 253 female in total 471 persons have take admission. Presently there are 65 residents. The residential capacity of Rajeev–Rajan Adharghar is limited to 60 – 65 residents. There is always a waiting list of 10 – 15 persons.
With the experience of Aadharghar at Nere, Panvel for 18 years, the trustees realized that there is a similar need in the society & hence the trust has purchased three acres land at Khairewadi, 8-10 KM away from Shikrapur, on Pune-Nagar Road. This Land has been converted into NA Land (Non-Agriculture).
In first phase, the trust has made a construction for Niramaya Dispensary where an OPD is operating presently on weekly basis. The trust has built "Niramaya Aadharghar" for 10 old needy people.
In second phase, the trust wishes to construct a two storey building for nearly 70 needy people.
